Sweet Sauces

Sweet sources are great for adding a bit more sweetness to ice creams, profiteroles, milkshakes, cakes and puddings. Here I will show you some recipes for different kinds of sauces you can use to add even more flavour to you bakes!

This rich chocolaty sauce goes perfectly on ice cream or drizzled over profiteroles.

Chocolate Sauce:

150g Chocolate

20g Butter

10 tbsp Milk

6 tbsp Double Cream

1. Cut the chocolate and butter and place in a bowl.

2. In a pan heat the double cream and milk until boiling.

3. Once the cream-milk boils pour over the chocolate and butter. Mix together until incorporated.

4. This sauce is now ready to be used.

250g Soft Brown Sugar

2. Add the soft brown sugar, sea salt flakes and double cream to the melted butter. Mix the ingredients together till all the ingredients are fully incorporated.

Mango Sauce

Mango sauce is not a very common sauce put I works well with desserts that use cardamom (which mango pairs up with well).

Ingredients:

Mango Sauce:

500g Mango Puree

60g Butter

75g Soft Brown Sugar

1. Place the butter in a pan and place on the hob. Heat the butter until the butter has melted.

2. Add the mango puree, sugar and lemon juice to the melted butter. The sharpness from the lemon juice in this recipe will cut though the sweetness of the mango.

3. Keep heating the mixture on the hob until it starts to boil and then reduce the heat. Let the sauce simmer on a medium heat for 2-4 minutes.

4. Take the pan off the heat and let the sauce cool for 5 minutes.

1. Place the raspberry puree and caster sugar into a pan and place on to the hob.
