Red Velvet Cake

Cream Cheese Frosting

This frosting is rich and creamy, with a subtle hint of vanilla. It works well with carrot cake and red velvet cake. If the cream cheese frosting needs to be used for coating a cake place the frosting in the fridge for an hour and it will become more spreadable.


Cream Cheese Frosting:

100g Soften Butter

100g Icing Sugar

300g Cream Cheese

2 tsp Vanilla Essence/Paste

3 tbsp Milk


1.  Mix the soften butter with a stand mixer until pale. Its important to use softened butter as this will prevent lumps from forming in the frosting.

2. Add the icing sugar, milk and the vanilla essence/paste, mix until everything is combined.

3. Next add the cream cheese and continue mixing until the cream cheese is fully incorporated.
